TBC CONCEPT BY TBC BANK CREATES THE MOST ENRICHING BACKDROP FOR ENTREPRENEURS, LEADERS AND CREATIVES TO UNLEASH THEIR MINDS
Sheridan&Co worked alongside Georgia-based TBC Bank to transform traditional banking through their flagship. TBC Concept represents a new strategic approach to banking, nurturing Tbilisi’s entrepreneurial spirit and a whole new generation of start-ups through retail design. Drawing upon the legacy of both Georgia’s rich history and the heritage of the building, it was clear that we were taking an existing legacy and creating its next chapter. We were setting the blueprint of what will become, whilst respecting and acknowledging what has already been.
"AFTER RIGOROUS MONTHS OF DEVELOPMENT, THE DESIGN AND STRATEGY EXACTLY MET OUR REQUIREMENTS AND TURNED OUT EVEN BETTER THAN WE WOULD IMAGINE"
TBC ConceptThe 2,400 sq m flagship at 7 Marjanishvili, Georgia holds a history of connection; a nexus of ideas and innovations. Historically a home, a gallery, a shopping mall and now a bank our mission was to ensure that everything this building has been were to act as a blueprint for what it was to become. We were tasked with the strategic, customer-led design of TBC Concept made up of 9 rooms spread over 4 floors. Far more than place to bank, TBC Concept includes an atrium, a co-working space, a cafe, a digital branch, a library and more.
"TBC Concept is Georgia’s centre point of intellect and creativity."
Sheridan&Co worked to create a multi-use space that provides flexible working environments, remarkable hospitality and educational experiences, and is a stage for the rich cultural scene across Georgia. Fostering connection and collaboration, celebrating the openness of our people..
“NEVER HAS IT BEEN MORE IMPORTANT TO DESIGN A SPACE BY RESPECTING THE EXTERIOR WORLD AND THE COMMUNITY THAT RESIDES THERE.”
Michael Sheridan - Chairman and FounderTBC has been a part of the fabric of Georgian life since its inception. Marjanishvili: the central heart of Tbilisi. The openness and inclusivity of this building is key. It is democratic, catering to a huge number of interests and requirements. Whilst some spaces are designed for TBC and Premium members, the wide range of cultural and enriching experiences are open to all of Tbilisi.
From our visits to Marjanishvili, it was clear that different parts of the building each had their own personality and character. Yet at the same time, each zone served their own purpose in terms of engaging with TBC’s cliental. Our task was to celebrate each of these zones through visual language, whilst also acknowledging their specific requirements. We manipulated the design of the space to encourage interaction, engagement and community and at other times, offer intimacy, privacy and even moments for relaxation. The end result was an eclectic space in the heart of Tbilisi, that is reflective of the minds that will be occupying the building, but also the essence of the city at the same time.
“OUR STRATEGIC AND CONSIDERED APPROACH DRIVES ENSURES WE DELIVER WITH METICULOUS EXECUTION, EVERY TIME.”
MICHAEL SHERIDAN - CHAIRMAN AND FOUNDERTbilisi is a city that greets visitors with a lasting impression. When it comes to the design, it is a melting point of both eastern and western cultures. It was critical for the design of the space to celebrate this through an electric aesthetic. This was achieved through a juxtaposition of wooden textures, black metals, velvets, leathers, slate blue paint finishes, fluted glass, foliage and pops of colour through copper and terracotta prints. A sense of fluidity and openness was achieved through curved like fixtures, ensuring there is a sense of continuity throughout the space. The end result was a professional, contemporary and luxurious environment for people to come together and work.
